Originally an 8v GTI. I purchased the car in Febuary 2005 for $450 with a tired 16v swap from an 88 scirocco. It even had the Scirocco intake manifold, wiring, fuel lines, and air box installed too....what a mess! Though it was "driveable", things had to change.
The first cool thing done was the addition of a "new" 16v motor running naturally aspirated on SDS fuel management. This was among a few other new things added to get it running right, and have some fun with it at the track. The car barely made it to DATR 2006.
March 2007: Time to Boost.
The supercharger kit was built by me and my good friend Dean. Though we drive each other nuts sometimes, he is a gifted, and mythotical mechanic, and all around a great guy. I could not of done such a nice job without his help. We spent about 10 hours a week working on the supercharger kit for 15 months. The car was finally driven home to "finish up" just 2 days before DATR '08.
